Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, a fast-rising Nigerian singer, has spoken out about why he dropped out of school.
“Music is a rapid money-making machine that brings money.” If you sing you must have money unless you’re not good at it, if you’re a musician, you must be affluent. I’ve noticed that everytime I sing, I make a lot of money.” He stated his case.Portable went on to say that before his meteoric surge to fame in December of last year, he met certain people who tried to harm his career by ‘over-packaging’ it.
“You know if they don’t wicked you multiple times.” As a result, I carried all of this crazy into the music industry. Even if you want to do business with someone who takes advantage of you, make sure you let them know you’re aware of their character but still want to do business with them. They should also be aware that you’re not a weak person.
“They knew I sabi sing, but they didn’t open the door,” says the narrator. I’ve met a lot of individuals who have told me I’m good, but it’s all come to an end. They’ll sign you and lock you up, even if you meet prominent individuals who want to support you, but they’ll damage your career by over-packaging.” He went on to say.
