The NDLEA explains why they detained De General, a skit maker.

De General, an Instagram comedian, went live on his Instagram account earlier today to reveal how NDLEA operatives raided his house in the middle of the night to search the house.

In a brief update, the NDLEA has confirmed that the skit maker, as well as three others, were arrested in the Lagos raid.

See the statement released below:

Following a search on a notorious drug joint in Orchid Estate, Lekki region of Lagos state, agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, detained a skit maker, Sunday Joshua, widely known on social media as De-General, in the early hours of today, Wednesday 12th January.Narcotics officers raided a drug house in the estate based on valid intelligence, arresting three individuals with illicit substances including 200 sachets of 225mg Tramadol and 1.5 kg of cannabis sativa. During the operation, some individuals, including the suspected dealer, fled with bags containing exhibits.

They ended up at 2B Saula Akinlolu Way, Orchid Estate, the home of 22-year-old Sunday Joshua, according to the trail (aka De General). To avoid a search, the young men began to make noise. Before entering, the operatives announced themselves as NDLEA officials and consented to a search. This was completed, and a search was carried out.

During the search, drug exhibits were discovered, including cannabis sativa, Tramadol 225mg, and drug paraphernalia. This came after the suspect requested that the search be recorded on video, which the officers granted out of courtesy. The suspect and his companions decided to interrupt the search of the house in a video that has gone viral on social media. The suspect admitted ownership of the drugs recovered from his home in his in-custody confession.
