Teenagers in Ogun have been remanded in prison for k!ll!ng a 20-year-old female for a money r!tual.

The four teens accused of murdering Sofiat Kehinde, 20, have been remanded in custody for two months by a magistrate court in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Following their arrest on Saturday, January 29, the suspects, identified as Balogun Mustaqeem, 20; Majekodunmi Soliudeen, 18; Abdulgafar Lukman, 19; and Waris Oladeinde, 18, were charged with two charges of conspiracy and murder.The suspects were captured on Saturday while attempting to perform a money r!tual by burning the head of their victim, who is alleged to be one of them’s girlfriends, in a pot.The defendants committed the offence on January 28 at around 11:00 a.m. in the Kugba area of Abeokuta, according to the prosecutor, Lawrence Balogun.

The prosecutor said the defendants murdered the victim with the intention of using her in a money r!tual. He also said the crime violated sections 324 and 316 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006.I. O. Abudu, the presiding judge, did not accept the defendants’ plea and ordered that they be remanded in jail custody.The suspects were remanded at the Oba correctional facility for legal advice from the Ogun State Director of Public Prosecutions, according to Abudu (DPP).The case was deferred until March 14 for a hearing.

The courtroom was reportedly packed to capacity as the victim’s relatives and other sympathisers flocked to the courtroom to see the arraignment.
