My mum is unconcerned about people posting ‘hellfire memes’ on social media – Mummy G.O.’s son says.

Evangelist Funmilayo Adebayo has been nicknamed “Mummy GO” on social media for a series of controversial claims she’s made about Heaven and Hell, including some directions she issued to her church members on how to construct heaven.Samuel, her son, has reacted to his mother’s images being exploited in amusing memes on social media.Samuel told The PUNCH that, despite his mother’s pronouncements about certain activities that could lead to hellfire as a destination in the hereafter, she never forced others to believe her.

Samuel made a point of saying that it is up to the listeners to reject or accept any of her sermons that do not accord with their beliefs.

He said;

“Everything that has been written about her saying she said this and that is all falsehoods; nothing about the memes is factual; they are just inventing the memes, everyone with their contents, writing all sorts of things and tagging her photographs.” We’ve grown accustomed to it; the best course of action is to ignore them.”Even though she spoke everything about hell, there is nowhere she claimed that people must agree and accept what she is saying because she said it by fire, by force.” I don’t believe she’s ever made a comment like that before.

“Everyone has the right to believe whatever they wish.” I’m not sure why people are taking it so seriously. There is always the freedom to believe whatever one wants and to ignore anything one wishes, but there is also the freedom to express oneself. Even Christ did not say that people must recognize Him as the son of God by compulsion.”
