Ms Ogbulu, a Lagos socialite, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for selling petrol as a souvenir.

A Lagos Mobile Court sitting at the State Task Office in Oshodi condemned Ms. Ogbulu, a Lagos socialite, on Friday.

According to Chief Magistrate Kehinde Ogundare, who gave the verdict, the prosecution has successfully substantiated the accusation against the defendant beyond all reasonable doubts.

On March 14, 2022, the defendant was charged with selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) as a memento at her installation party at Havilah Event Centre in Lagos on March 25, 2022.Sections 251(1), 168 (1), and 244 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015, as well as Section 195 (2)(b) of the Lagos State Environmental Management Protection Law of 2017, according to the prosecutor.

Magistrate Ogundare sentenced the defendant to three months in prison on the first count, with a N15,000 fine as an option.On charges 2 and 3, the judge sentenced her to one year in prison with the option of a fine of N500, 000.
