“Fear of Instagram is the beginning of wisdom,” Yemi Alade urges people to avoid comparing their life to those they see online

Yemi Alade, a well-known singer from Nigeria, has cautioned social media users not to compare their life to others they see online. In a video posted on social media, the self-described “Mama Africa” stated that there is no joy in comparison and that people should stop using what they see online as a barometer for their life.

The 33-year-old singer asserts that if someone wants to be depressed all the time, they could spend all day reading through their Instagram account and viewing images of happy people having fun and taking holidays. She argued that individuals should cease doing this and instead reflect on their own life, examine their development, and consider how far they have come.
