Omah Lay is a talented Nigerian Afro Fusion performer who goes by the stage name Stanley Omah Dibia.His new EP, “What Have We Done,” will be released in November 2020, so here are five things you probably didn’t know about him.
1) Born in Port Harcourt
Omah Lay was born on May 19, 1997, to a Christian family in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
2) His family has always been in music business.
Omah Lay was born into a musically inclined household.Until his death in 1976, his grandpa worked as a percussionist for Celestine Ukwu, a famed highlife singer.Though he didn’t reach the heights of Omah Lay’s grandpa, his father took up drumming and became a hero.
3) His first job was as a cleaner
Omah Lay claims that his first work was as a cleaner at a recording studio, which helped him get his foot in the door of the music industry.This was done in order to learn and study.
4) He Started Singing at Age 15
Omah Lay began his own music career as a recorded music producer and songwriter when he was 15 years old.As he prepares to enter the music industry in June 2019, he has progressed to a larger stage.He revealed that he was unhappy at not receiving credit for songs he produced and authored for people in his neighborhood.
5) He is signed to Warner music record label.
Omah Lay has secured a recording contract with Warner Music Group, an American musical label.His latest EP is his first release with the label.Omah Lay was recently nominated for Nigeria’s Next Rated Artist.
